Lent is a season in the Christian year that prepares us for the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Lent is 40 days characterized by anticipation and mourning. In the season, we become aware of our own sinfulness and mortality, looking to the hope that we find in the death and resurrection of Jesus to deliver us from the bonds of sin and the burden of death.
As you read the Scriptures, allow each day's readings to draw your hearts towards Christ, appreciating his continuing work in our lives and in the darkness of the world around us.
Reading plans can also be found on the Welcome Desk at the church.
